When we say we have the best volunteers, we’re not joking! These amazing souls removed 1.5 tonnes from the sea last Saturday It was fantastic and humbling to see such a diverse clean-up with volunteers from Malta, UK, France, Italy, Poland, Serbia, Czech Republic, Japan, USA, Sweden, Germany and Belgium.

  • Plastic 30.1 kg
  • Glass 19.6 kg
  • Metal 875.1 kg
  • Mixed Waste 586.1 kg
  • Total 1510.9 kg

All the metal pieces were found in the shallow areas across the coastline, posing a danger to swimmers in the area. Our land grew also managed to fill buckets of cigarettes from along the entire coastline.

As always, thank you to our partners and sponsors: Dive Systems – Malta, The Alfred Mizzi Foundation & Portughes Dry Cleaning and the Tas-Sliema Local Council for their cooperation, with a special thank you to John Pillow – Sliema Local Councillor from the council. A shout out also to the Sharklab-Malta crew who showed up in force.
