The Charles Miceli Scholarship Award for social worker front liners was this year awarded to Albert Debono. Albert Debono is head of Caritas Malta’s Djakonija commission which supports society’s most vulnerable members. Albert successfully completed two courses with the Karnhevie Institute of Glasgow, focused on coaching frontline workers in order to facilitate their full potential. During the toughest times of COVID in the Spring of 2021, The Alfred Mizzi Foundation and Caritas teamed up in Solidarity Meals and provided food for some 800 persons a day. Albert Debono looked after the logistics side of the operation. The event was held at Dar Papa Franġisku in Santa Venera. Mrs. Pauline Miceli, Charles Miceli’s wife, presented Albert with his certificate.
