This year the Archbishop’s lunch hosted at the Curia in Floriana will be held for the twentieth time. The Alfred Mizzi Foundation is proud to have been part of this from the very start, supporting Caritas with delicious food for a hearty Christmas meal. A fresh vegetable puree soup followed by stuffed turkey served with roast potatoes and seasonal vegetables are once again on the menu this year, by popular demand. The food, as in previous years, is voluntarily prepared by Kitchen Concepts Chef Steve Mamo and his team in one of the Vecchia Napoli kitchens.
Some 50 Caritas volunteers will serve the meal for close to 600.
Addressing the press at the Curia’s press conference, The Alfred Mizzi Foundation Chairman, Julian Sammut mentioned the lunch for one thousand which Pope Leo hosted in Rome on World Poverty Day and commented that this year, the meals served at the Curia lunch and other meals served directly to homes across the island should surpass this number. All have much to be proud of.
Christmas Day 2025 promises to be a very happy day for so many bereft of happiness in their lives.
