The Alfred Mizzi Foundation is supporting a revolutionary watering system for trees planted in public spaces. Ħaż-Żebbuġ Councillor Steve Zammit Lupi, well known for his pro-environment work and initiatives, has spear-headed the installation of 200 water bags, each with a carrying capacity of 70ltrs. These are set to release the water over a weeklong period, through drip irrigation.

Many of these water bags are already installed and functioning. They have been enthusiastically welcomed by all locals. The Alfred Mizzi Foundation which purchased the water bags for €10,000, has further plans to support Steve Zammit Lupi in his drive to sustain and increase tree planting in the locality.
