One year on and Solidarity Meals are still producing hundreds of meals each day. Set up when the crippling effects of COVID were first felt in April last year, Solidarity Meals set up by The Alfred Mizzi Foundation with the support of Caritas (Malta), Alf. Mizzi & Sons Marketing Ltd. and Kitchen Concepts Ltd., continues to provide hearty meals daily to people in need across Malta. Caritas through the Church’s Djakonija commission, has distributed well over 100,000 meals.

Speaking on behalf of The Alfred Mizzi Foundation, Julian Sammut said that the number of meals being provided is lower than last year and this is mainly due to the fact that other Soup Kitchens have since been set up and also many more food parcels are being distributed. Food banks are another initiative which TAMF generously supports furnishing thousands of euros worth of food provisions each week.
